Hunting season is Jesse's busiest time of the year, and this year should be no exception. He says deer hunters begin preparing for their autumn ritual many months in advance, but the dove hunters don't generally think so far ahead. Many of the bird hunters wait for the day before the season opens, and rush in to buy boxes of shotgun shells or have their failing  pieces repaired or tuned up, but Jesse takes all with a good-natured grin. He puts quite a few extra hours in his repair shop in the back of the store, but he loves the interaction with the hunters. " I love these folks, and love this time of year, many of them I only see once a year, so I always look forward to hunting stories and tall tales". Bonner says it is good service that writes his paychecks. He stocks an assortment of free advice and good natured humor, too.
